All of our creations are custom made to order, which means nothing is made in advance without a signed contract/quote and deposit paid. Orders for products are considered custom orders and as such as subject to stringent cancellation and change policies.

The term “in writing” in these policies applies to all written forms of communication, including but not limited to emails, text messages, social media messages or postings and hand written communications.


Delivery charges are considered part of the order total and are subject to the policies outlined below.


Please note that all of our products are made with or may have come in contact with the following allergens: milk, eggs, dairy, soy, wheat, gluten, tree nuts and peanuts.


Policies for Orders Under $50.00


Placing an Advance Order for Products Under $50.00

  • Orders placed for products under $50.00 require full payment at time of order placement. Orders are not considered confirmed until payment is received and acknowledged by Sweets By Design.
  • Sweets By Design's availability to accept an order will be determined as of the day and time that the deposit is paid.

Placing a Rush Orders for Products Under $50.00

  • Orders placed with less than 3 days notice are considered rush orders and are subject to a $10.00 rush fee.


Changing an Order for Products Under $50.00

  • Changes made to an order with less than 5 days’ notice may be subject to a $25.00 change order fee plus any additional costs created by the change order request. This is at the discretion of Sweets By Design.


Deliveries For Orders Under $50.00

  • Delivery is available for orders under $50.00.
  • Delivery is subject to the availability of Sweets By Design.
  • Sweets By Design’s minimum delivery fee is $10.00, which covers deliveries within 5 miles of the studio.
  • Deliveries beyond 5 miles of the studio will be subject to additional delivery charges.
  • Delivery charges will be communicated to customer and must be approved in writing prior to being scheduled.


Canceling An Order For Products Under $50.00

  • Orders cancelled with less than 5 days notice are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Orders cancelled with more than 5 days notice are 50% refundable.
  • Any refund due is paid to the customer on the date of the original reservation.



Policies For Orders Over $50.00 (Excluding Wedding Cakes, Large Event Cakes, 3D and Carved Cakes)


Placing an Order for Products Over $50.00

  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for all custom cake orders.  A non-refundable deposit equal to $50 of the anticipated cost of the order is required for a reservation on the calendar.
  • Orders are not considered confirmed until deposit is paid and acknowledged by Sweets By Design.
  • Sweets By Design's availability to accept an order will be determined as of the day and time that the deposit is paid.
  • The deposit applies to the total price for the order.


Placing a Rush Order for Products Over $50.00

  • An order is considered a Rush Order when placed less than 7 days prior to the reservation date.
  • Rush orders will be accepted when possible and may incur a Rush Fee of $25 – $75 in addition to the cost of the items ordered.
  • Acceptance of rush orders will be at the discretion of Sweets By Design.


Changing an Order for Products Over $50.00

  • Order changes which do not impact the price or which increase the price, will be considered up to 7 days prior to the reservation date, provided that any increase in the required deposit amount is paid at the time of the change.
  • Rush changes for flavor and/or design will be considered if they are requested at least 3 days in advance of the reservation date. An additional fee of $25 – $75 will be incurred and is payable at the time the change is accepted by Sweets By Design.
  • Changes to an order which result in a reduction in the price must be made 14 days prior to the reservation date. Any refund due to the Client in excess of the non-refundable deposit and special orders items purchased for the original design will be paid by Sweets By Design on the reservation date.
  • Sweets By Design's ability to accommodate Client change requests is dependent upon the number and complexity of all reservations booked on a particular date.

Deliveries For Orders Over $50.00

  • Delivery is available for orders over $50.00.
  • Delivery is subject to the availability of Sweets By Design.
  • Sweets By Design’s minimum delivery fee is $10.00, which covers deliveries within 5 miles of the studio.
  • Deliveries beyond 5 miles of the studio will be subject to additional delivery charges.
  • Delivery charges will be communicated to customer and must be approved in writing prior to being scheduled.

Canceling an Order for Products Over $50.00

  • Cancellation requests must be made in writing by email and are not considered received until acknowledged by Sweets By Design.
  • Cancellation requests made 14 days or more before the reservation date may transfer the deposit to a future order within the subsequent 6 month period, less a $25 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation requests made less than 14 days forfeit the ability to transfer the despot to a future order.


These policies do not apply to Wedding Cakes, Large Event Orders, 3D and Carved Cake orders. Those orders will be booked using a separate contract form. For those orders, the terms of the contract will apply.
